As part of the preparation for the Philippines-France Dairy Cooperation Project, Mr. Wilfrid Fousse, Regional Agri-Food Counselor, Embassy of France in Singapore and Ms. Nicole Razo, Sector Attaché, Embassy of France in Manila visited the National Dairy Authority (NDA) Dairy Multiplier Farm and Bohol Milk Processing Plant in Ubay, Bohol last April 6, 2022.
They were accompanied by NDA Administrator Farrell Benjelix C. Magtoto, NDA Visayas Department Officers and staff, DA-Project Development Service staff, Representatives from OPV Bohol headed by Provincial Vet Dr. Stella Marie Lapiz and dairy farmer Mr. Roger Navarro.
The team assessed the proposed project site and, after which was an introductory meeting which was also attended by Regional Executive Director Joel Elumba of the Department of Agriculture VII and Mr. Marianito Doydora, Municipal Agriculturist of Ubay Bohol. During the meeting, the team discussed the initial plans and components of the project which will be called the OneDAiry Hills Project.
This site assessment is an offshoot of an administrative arrangement on agricultural cooperation, forged in September of 2017, between the Philippine Department of Agriculture and the French Ministry of Agriculture. In the framework of this agreement, both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation for the development of public policies regarding food safety especially in the dairy sector through technical and economic exchanges between the stakeholders of the Philippines and the French dairy industry.
