The National Dairy Authority (NDA) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have formalized an agreement that will upscale the skills of Filipino dairy farmers, traders and processors.

NDA Administrator Marilyn B. Mabale has signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) together with TESDA Secretary Isidro S. Lapena Sid Lapeña in a virtual ceremony on Monday, July 26, which strengthens TESDA’s support for NDA in advancing and improving the Philippine dairy sector through the provision of scholarship programs and free skills trainings for farmers and other players along the dairy value chain.

“While NDA is engaged in developing the industry through policy direction and program implementation, the provision of trainings in dairy operations has always been a part of the implementation of all our programs,” said Administrator Mabale.
“With TESDA, as the lead agency in providing technical education and skills development to all sectors of agriculture, the envisioned skills in dairy operations will be further enhanced with the development of training regulations and competencies in partnership with TESDA,” she added.
The signing ceremony was attended by top officials of NDA and TESDA including NDA Deputy Administrator Farrell Benjelix Magtoto, TESDA Deputy Director General for TESD Operations Lina Sarmiento, Deputy Director General for Partnerships and Linkages Aniceto Bertiz III, and Deputy Director General for Policies and Planning Rosanna Urdaneta.
