The National Dairy Authority – South Luzon Department (NDA-SLD) is one of the partners of the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) in the implementation of the Republic Act 11524, otherwise known as the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Trust Fund Act. Last February 1, 2022, the NDA-SLD conducted an initial site evaluation and program orientation on the Coco Dairy Project with the officers and members of the Association of Hopeful Farmers in Juban, Sorsogon. The visit was headed by NDA-SLD Officer-in-Charge Manager Dr. Gabriel L. Lagamayo, together with Dairy Technician Mr. Neil Cordenete, through the assistance of Project Development Officer IV Mr. Salvador Garchitorena.
The activity is in relation to the Association’s Letter of Intent to avail 25 head of dairy cattle which will be distributed once the association has complied with all the prerequisites required during the preparatory stage of the project. Officials and members of the association expressed their sincere appreciation as they are now one step closer to their goals in creating job opportunities and increased income for their farmer members.
