In celebration of the Department of Agriculture-National Dairy Authority’s (DA-NDA) 27th Founding Anniversary, which coincides with the observance of Women’s Month, the NDA-Southern Luzon Department conducted a mangrove planting activity and an outreach program on March 25, 2022 in Brgy. Olo-Olo, Lobo, Batangas.
Officers and staff of the NDA-SLD spearheaded the mangrove planting activity early in the morning with the assistance from the Olo-Olo Seaside Workers Association headed by Mr. Noel Gamboa. This was followed by an outreach activity at Lagadlarin Elementary School where more than 100 participants including children, parents, and teachers were given hygiene kits, snacks and milk.
Subsequently, a short meeting was conducted with Lobo Irrigators Service Association (LISA), one the beneficiary organizations of the Dairy Goat Expansion Program of the Office of Senator Cynthia Villar. Dr. Gabriel Lagamayo, Officer-in-Charge Manager, SLD briefly discussed the project requirements for the project to push through.
