Davao City buys P1 million worth of farmers’ milk for residents
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Davao City government has allocated funds for the purchase of milk produced by local dairy farmers who have been affected by the current crisis.
Since April this year, the city has already bought a total of P1 million worth of milk as part of the food packs that were distributed to its constituents.
Assisted dairy farmers and cooperatives of the National Dairy Authority (NDA) including Kim’s Milk Corporation, Gonzaga Farm, and Federation of Davao Dairy Farmers Cooperatives (FEDDAFC) were tapped as the suppliers of milk for the said distribution.
Through this initiative, the city government aims to provide a ready market for local dairy farmers and at the same time, meet the nutritional needs of Davaoeños.
