The Regional Management Committee (RMC) headed by Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Regional Director of the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO) Carlene C. Collado, together with the heads and representatives of DA-attached agencies and line bureaus, converge in a press briefing in the afternoon of September 27, 2018 at the DA-RFO 10 compound.

The press briefing or media interaction aimed to inform and update the media, to include the public on the good developments in agriculture, the programs and activities towards the promotion and development of the agri-fisheries sector.

The National Dairy Authority-Northern Mindanao Department (NDA-NMD) was represented by its OIC-Department Manager Roy Antonio P. Hojas who was asked to provide updates on the dairy developments in the region.

The press briefing is a timely event amidst the issue on rice and vegetable shortage in the Luzon areas of which the latter was caused by the Typhoon Ompong that hit Luzon on September 15, 2018.

The Mirayon region farmers in Talakaga, Bukidnon have provided weekly supply of 40-60 tons of vegetables to Luzon in response to the shortage of food particularly vegetables. Such developments have given sure market for farmers and an outpouring of agri-assistance to ensure high agricultural productivity.

Recognizing the need to properly update the public, the media interaction was set to be conducted every month which shall be hosted by the DA and its attached agencies and line bureaus on a rotation basis.
