Carrying the theme “Sapat at dekalidad na gatas, tungo sa maunlad na Pinas,” the National Dairy Authority (NDA) and its dairy partners celebrated the 23rd Founding Anniversary of the agency on March 15, 2018 at the NMIS Hall, BAI Compound, Diliman, Quezon City. The celebration commenced with a Thanksgiving Mass which was followed by the opening ceremony.
NDA Administrator Marilyn B. Mabale gave the welcome address and acknowledged the presence of the guests and participants of the event. In her message, she highlighted the new directions set for the industry and encouraged support from the dairy partners.
“The NDA and its mother agency, the Department of Agriculture (DA), are now in for a bigger challenge ahead of us. We have to increase our country’s milk sufficiency by 10% in the next five years in line with the directives given by President Rodrigo R. Duterte and DA Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol,” she said. Addressing the dairy farmers, she added, “It may sound as a small figure but it cannot be easily attained by the NDA and its partner agencies without you. We need your support and commitment in pushing the dairy industry and in attaining that modest goal of 10% milk sufficiency.”
Meanwhile, as a symbol of the strong partnership between the NDA and its dairy stakeholders, Administrator Mabale led a ceremonial milk toast together with other NDA officials, dairy farmers and partners.
Other highlights which added color to the anniversary celebration were the sharing of dairy partners’ success stories, oath-taking of newly hired NDA employees, intermission number, games and raffles. The event gathered around 250 participants composed of dairy stakeholders, partner agencies and NDA staff.
