NDA, Rotary Club of Carmen Valley partner for feeding program in CDO
To create an atmosphere of compassion and care among frontliners and communities, the Rotary Club of Carmen Valley (RCCV) in Cagayan de Oro City has partnered with the National Dairy Authority-Northern Mindanao Department (NDA-NMD) in providing food among frontliners, children, and street dwellers in Cagayan de Oro City and neighboring communities.
The program collaboration of NDA’s Milk Distribution “We Drink Milk as One" and RCCV’s "Meals on Wheels" is a humanitarian act of ensuring better nutrition amidst this pandemic. Its implementation rolled out on July 8, 2020 at the Rotary Learning Center where children who do not have access to online learning, are taught face-to-face in a controlled school based system. The children were provided with fresh milk and meal packs.
Other recipients of the milk and food packs were medical personnel at the hospitals, media partners, differently abled persons, road and traffic officers, and farmers. A total of 2,000 milk and meal packs were distributed for the months of July and August 2020.
RCCV President Merlyn H. Ybañez thanked NDA-NMD for the initiative of providing milk and for the project tie-up. She further encouraged other organized groups, private and government entities for partnership for the feeding program to continue.
