In relation to the previous visit of NDA South Luzon Department last February 15-16, 2022 in Sta. Cruz, Marinduque which aimed to promote the agency’s herd build-up program. DA-NDA SLD personnel conducted Upgrading Activities last March 28 – April 1, 2022 in three identified barangays of the Local Government of Sta. Cruz.

SLD OIC-Department Manager Dr. Gabriel L. Lagamayo spearheaded the Orientation on NDA Upgrading Program. He discussed the objectives as well as the process of the program to encourage farmers to engage in dairy farming once they have successfully produced dairy cattle offspring. A total of 74 farmers attended.

Afterwards, Mr. Larry Esperanza, Project Development Officer III and Mr. Marlon Villareal, Dairy Technician I, performed various activities (pregnancy diagnosis, estrous synchronization, artificial insemination, vitamin supplementation, and deworming) in Barangays Tamayo, Alobo, and Angas. A total of 117 animals were presented wherein 25 animals were artificially inseminated.
The week-long activities were made possible through the assistance of the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist-Sta. Cruz, Marinduque.
