The Department of Agriculture-National Dairy Authority held a training on artificial insemination in small ruminants on February 28, 2022 to March 4, 2022 at the R.O. Valerio Farm, Bacolor, Pampanga. A total of eight (8) NDA and Intensified Community-Based Dairy Enterprise Development (PL480) technical personnel from Northern Mindanao participated in the training.
Mr. Randy O. Valerio, Owner and Farm Manager of R.O Valerio Farm, shared his proficiency on how to successfully operate a dairy goat farm. Mr Nile David, co-owner and Operations Manager of David Swine Artificial Insemination Center Inc, together with Dr. Rodolfo Encarnacion, Jr., Managing Director of East Asia Veterinary Products Inc. also shared their expertise on Estrus Synchronization, Semen Collection, and Artificial Insemination of Dairy Goats.
Reproduction is one of the critical factors in attaining profitability of a dairy goat farm enterprise. The training equipped the participants in the practical application and utilization of artificial insemination technology to help the farmers increase their dairy goat herd inventory.
NDA Administrator Dr. Farrell Benjelix C. Magtoto graced the culmination of the event and delivered a message highlighting NDA’s continuing advocacy towards the “OneDAiry Revolution.”
