The Department of Agriculture – National Dairy Authority (DA-NDA) through its Northern Mindanao Department (NMD) conducted a Dairy Program Orientation and Training on Forage Production on February 21 to 22, 2022 at Sitio Bagalangit, Barangay Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
The two-day activity was participated in by ten farm workers employed by incoming dairy partner Ms. Alelee Aguilar Andanar. NDA-NMD has already conducted a series of site evaluations in her farm which started last December 2021. The orientation-training was part of NDA’s technical assistance provided to ensure that its new partners are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills in dairy production.
During the training, the NDA technical staff introduced to the participants some of the improved varieties of forage crops such as Mombasa and Mulato II grasses. An actual demonstration of forage planting was also conducted on the second day of the training.
